Photo Challenge Day 30

This challenge is designed to boost my creativity. The goal of the challenge is to take a photograph very day for the next 30 days.  Part of this challenge is to post the photograph of that day.

This has to be one of my favorite images. I found this monument with dog tags. When you looked at the reflection on the shiny surface of the dog tags, you can see the America flag flapping in the wind.  What makes this a powerful image is the representation of the dog tag along with the flag. It give the viewer a feeling of "Never Forget", remember the one who gave their lives.  That is what draws me the this image. I hope enjoy the last image in my 30 day challenge as much as I do.

This challenge is designed to boost my creativity. The goal of the challenge is to take a photograph very day for the next 30 days.  Part of this challenge is to post the photograph of that day.

I was not able to post am image yesterday. So it came to me that I would post two images to make up for the day I missed. and this would help me get back on track.

These two images I went back to westport in kc area and took these images of Griffiti Art.  I am impress with the detail in the Griffiti art. I love the sharp lines and the colors of the art.

I was not able to post am image yesterday. So it came to me that I would post two images to make up for the day I missed. and this would help me get back on track.

The image on the left I was liked the idea that you could barely see the structure. I like the viewer is playing a game of hide-and-seek.  This structure peeks over the plants as to say "Here I Am".

The image on the bottom is an image that I wanted to create an image that have a extreme angle and a sense of vertigo. I feel I accomplished this with this image.

This image was all about change. I came across this man cleaning the side of the Kauffman Center of Art.  Going to make this one short and sweet.  What I love about this image is how was able to capture this gentleman scaling down the building.

Here a new coffee print I took in the Shawnee park in the Kansas City area.  I developed the film for 25 mins in coffee. One of things I was focus on was the angle. I feel there something to say about an image that is contains angle. It creates a dynamic appearance to the photograph.

This challenge is designed to boost my creativity. The goal of the challenge is to take a photograph very day for the next 30 days.  Part of this challenge is to post the photograph of that day.

I was not able to post am image yesterday. So it came to me that I would post two images to make up for the day I missed. and this would help me get back on track.

These two prints are coffee prints the one on the left is taken around the Kauffman Center of Art. Using my Holga, I developed the film for 25 mins in coffee.  The one on the bottom was taken in Kanza Prairie around Manhattan Ks.  This image was apart of a role of that daring the development process a weird texture across the image. This texture that was created gave the image an eerie look.  That what i seem to love about this image.

This challenge is designed to boost my creativity. The goal of the challenge is to take a photograph very day for the next 30 days.  Part of this challenge is to post the photograph of that day.

Both images where created at the Kansas City Zoo. These two photographs was more about the angles and sharpness to the subject.  I was to use the lines in the background and the foreground to draw the eye through the image. Along with focusing on the subject.

This image was I trying to create an image that has the appearance of a image that was taken about 30 years ago. I manipulated this image to give this feeling.  What I love about this image is the many textures contain in this image.  From the harsh flash to the detail of the wood on the table. This gives the image the power I was wanting to convey.

This Image was taken with my Holga camera and then developed in coffee, I then scanned the film into my computer. The uses of the soft focus along with the simple lens on the Hogla help creates an image that is old fashion in style.  That is what I was trying to accomplish.

With is image, I was came across this old barn and I have a thing about barns. I sit there and wonder how old is this building. What has it seen over the years, and how long with it last. that what I love about this image.

This image I was taking a photograph of this purple flower and as I was in the middle of my third shot the bee flew in. I could not resist taking this photo.

I was tying to use a selective focus on the flower, and trying to bring out the detail of the flower.  Burring out the background I was able to bring the foreground in to more of a three dimensional view.  That is what I was trying to accomplish.

This image was all about chance, catching this peacock at the right moment. What makes this image was the color. The brilliant blues and greens makes the image pops. That is what I love about this image.

Photo Challenge Day 14

This challenge is designed to boost my creativity. The goal of the challenge is to take a photograph very day for the next 30 days.  Part of this challenge is to post the photograph of that day.

This posting is coming a little later then I want to but here it is. This image is all about the flower. I loved the color and the shape of this flower. To bring out the color and shape I decided to use a selective focus on the flower. Doing this brings the flower to the foreground, and blurring out the background.

Photo Challenge Day 13

This challenge is designed to boost my creativity. The goal of the challenge is to take a photograph very day for the next 30 days.  Part of this challenge is to post the photograph of that day.

This posting is coming a little later then I want to but here it is. This image was taken with my 50mm lens, I want to create the focus on the cactus with a soft focus on the back ground. I feel doing this type of focus help to this image. 

Color also plays a strong role in this image, the cool colors gives the view a calming effect. That is what I love about photograph.  I almost want to reach out and touch. But it also makes me recoil in fear of getting prick by a needles.

The realism combine with the soft colors I feel creates a strong image, I hope you enjoy this image.

Alix Malka

Alix Malka was born in the south of France. He found his love for photography as a young opera singer. He became obsessed with the sheer beauty of visual arts which grew into a passion for photography, fashion, and film.  After graduating with a fine art degree in Aix en Provence and completed Fashion Design at Esmod, Paris.

 

He began to working as art director along side Thierry Mugler and helping creating all aspects of a Haute-Couture house. He became a crucial part of the House of Mugler. Working there he collaborating with numerous photographers which fuel his passion for fulfilling Alixʼs dream of becoming a photographer.

  

In 2002 he moved to New York and began his career fashion photography, and working with fashion magazines including Vogue, Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar, GQ, Rolling Stones, Numero, The Face, I.D., and Flair. 

 

While working with fashion magazines he began to create beautiful images that became will know internationally. Photographs that seems to incorporate his unique artistic and sense of detail. Images that give the viewer a wonder and amazement over the artwork he has created.

His Images have a flow to them, moving the eye across the image. Which in turn gives the eye more to concentrate on. The vibrant colors, ornate details keeps the viewer wanting more.

Photo Challenge Day 12

This challenge is designed to boost my creativity. The goal of the challenge is to take a photograph very day for the next 30 days.  Part of this challenge is to post the photograph of that day.

This Image was taken with my Holga camera and then developed in coffee, I then scanned the film into my computer. At some point during the development process the film emotion developed a texture the seem to distort the image. I feel it creates an interesting image.  An Image that gives the viewer a sense of wonder.

With is image I was trying to create a dynamic angle to the photograph.  I feel this creates visual line the flows through the images. This visual line helps to create a sense wonder for the viewer. The vertcal high of the building makes it daunting and that what I love about the image.

This challenge is designed to boost my creativity. The goal of the challenge is to take a photograph very day for the next 30 days.  Part of this challenge is to post the photograph of that day.

Here is the ten image in the little challenge of mind. In this image I loved the play between the light and the pillars. It creates a radiance that seems to encompass the pillars. A glow that seem create a of tranquility to the photography. The thing I don't like about the image is the focus need to stronger, But I know what I did wrong I have forgotten my tripod. So the lesson of the night don't for get the tripod. Other then that I love this image.

Photo Challenge Day 9

This challenge is designed to boost my creativity. The goal of the challenge is to take a photograph very day for the next 30 days.  Part of this challenge is to post the photograph of that day.

I feel like this particular image is about the movement of the train that is passing by the Bridge.  I wanted to create a contrast between the movement of the train and the lighting of the under the bridge. I feel the long exposure was able to enhance the lighting, by bring more detail in the photograph. Which is important this type of Image.

What I like about this image is the angles of the cross bars of the bridge. I guess I have a love for sharp angles, it seems a lot of my images contain angles and this image is no different.  But I feel there something to say about an image that is contains angle. There more to this image then just angles, I feel what makes this successful image how light and dark interplay with itself and create a cohesive image.

This challenge is designed to boost my creativity. The goal of the challenge is to take a photograph very day for the next 30 days.  Part of this challenge is to post the photograph of that day.

Nothing fancy about this image, it is more about the angle and the type of lens I used. By creating this image with 50 mm lens I wanted practice in low lighting and what better way then on my cat.  They have always said that taking images of kids and pets are the hardest images to capture. I do believe that, it took me an hour to get this image.  The camera shy kitty just did not want to sit down for his picture to be taking. It was still fun trying to take this image.

With this particular image I was trying make all about the focus. I feel this image would not be as powerful it did not have this type of selected focus. What make this a powerful image is how keeps your eye in to the center of the photograph.  That is what I was trying to accomplish.

Photo Challenge Day 4

This challenge is designed to boost my creativity. The goal of the challenge is to take a photograph very day for the next 30 days.  Part of this challenge is to post the photograph of that day.


What I love about this particular image is it give reminds me of my Reconstruction of a Third Dimension Project. This was a building that was be remodeled and that what I fell in love with.  I began to look at the sharp angle of the stair and began to think about how it would look like as a 3-D print. The thought began to shift to the ideas of where do the stairs go too.  Is there anything up there or does it go nowhere.  That is what I like about this image.

When it comes to this particular image I used a  Holga camera to create this effect.  It was interplay of colors and texture. That drew me the process of using a Holga.

Standing Alone

This challenge is designed to boost my creativity. The goal of the challenge is to take a photograph very day for the next 30 days.  Part of this challenge is to post the photograph of that day.

This particular image I was trying to focus on the  depth of field. By using a 50 mm lens I was trying to create a contrast between the foreground and the background. By using a selective focus on the lamp I wanted to bring the lamp forward by boring the background and creating a sharpness on the object.  By doing this type of focus it pulls the lamp into foreground, and creating an image where the lamp it the selective focus for the view.

Photo Challenge

The calm

Lately I've been feeling very unmotivated in taking photographs. So I have decided to challenge myself. This challenge is designed to boost my creativity. The goal of the challenge is to take a photograph very day for the next 30 days.  Part of this challenge is to post the photograph of that day.

With is image I was trying to create a dynamic angle to the photograph. By moving the camera at a 45 degree I feel this creates visual line the flows through the images. This visual line helps to create a of wonder for the viewer.  Apart of this visual aspect of this image is the darkness of the thunderstorm that is rolling into town.  The storm creates a mood to the image give the view a sense of apprehension. That is what I love about this image.
